Opportunity for a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer
The Pre-Sales Engineer will be both technical consultant and trusted advisor to Mirifice’s customers and channel partners, to drive and maximize sales revenues. Supporting a team of sales professionals, the engineer will be an expert in the Mirifice products and their application, so a strong understanding of the DTV space is essential. Working with Engineering and Sales the engineer will ensure that the customer orders and receives the products that meet their requirements. The engineer will provide customer feedback to the CTO as input to the roadmap process.
Principal Accountabilities

Technical Support – Pre and Post Sales
- Attend customer meetings, providing Pre- and Post- Sales Support to the Sales Team as appropriate.
- Responsible for recommending the most viable, effective product configuration to meet customer’s requirements.
- Responsible for demonstrating the Mirifice products to customers, and for maintaining demo systems.
- Responsible for arranging customer trials and for providing the first line of support for customer trials.
- Responsible for liaising with customers, channel partners and third party integrators in porting Mirifice products to new platforms
- Produce responses to Requests for Information and Requests for Pricing.
- Verify that the proposal documentation meets the requirements identified by and with the customer. Develop technical proposal documentation where appropriate, ensuring complete and accurate information is provided to customer.
- Provide an escalation route for customer/prospect and sales team for initial technical issues, liaising with the engineering and operational teams as appropriate.
- Formulate technical responses for tender submissions, including participation in Bid Teams.
Product Deployment
- Verify that the order documentation matches the proposal and ensure that Operations receives the technical proposal documentation required to complete the delivery and deployment accurately
- On occasion, assist the Deployment team to deliver a customer’s solution, including training.
Product Development
- Research, attendance at conferences and working with CTO to stay on top of changes in business issues/requirements/regulations/technology and understand where the market is going.
- Responsible for staying current on competitive analyses and understanding differentiators between the company and its competitors.
- Responsible for staying abreast of product roadmap as well as understanding the scenarios, features and functions within each of the products and how these are applied to address business and technical problems. This includes interacting with Product Management and Development on a continuing basis to stay current.
- Share product enhancement/development knowledge with the Sales Team, including presentations at Sales meetings.
General Support
- Recognise potential business opportunities for product and services, and communicate this to the business, remaining commercially aware at all times.
- It may be appropriate to work directly with customers/prospects without Sales personnel involvement.
Nature and Scope
The Pre-Sales Engineer will report to the Sales Director. He / she will achieve the company’s stated objectives and targets as outlined by the Sales Director, responding to customer (both internal and external) requirements in a timely manner.
The Pre-Sales Engineer will require a high level of communications skills, and have a good technical understanding of the Mirifice products and their application, being responsible for translating the customer need to successful proposal.
Proven experience in a similar position is desirable.
The Pre-Sales Engineer must have a proactive and ‘can-do’ attitude and be willing to operate independently or as part of a team as appropriate.
Mirifice products are deployed worldwide, so a good degree of travelling may be required.
Customer requirements may decree that work may need to be carried out outside normal working hours.
